Thank you Powell community!
In recent months teachers have submitted their requests to PTO for the purchase of items with the proceeds of the magazine sale. On February 21st LPS superintendent, Scott Murphy, Powell principal, Steve Wolf, and members of the PTO surprised manyof our teachers and students sweepstakes-style with over-sized checks and balloons announcing what items would be purchased for the classrooms. Mrs. Ross literally jumped for joy, Mrs. Manculich was dancing the jig, and Mrs. Smart and Mrs. Sheets|were giddy with delight! At a recent meeting, Mr. Murphy shared his enjoyment at seeing our teachers so excited. Over $53,000 will be spent on requests, and here is a list of some of the equipment and materials that will be purchased:
- 3 sets of 35 netbooks with carts and printers
- Science lab equipment
- Software for computer lab
- Novels for the Language Arts department
- Document camera
- Web cameras
- Electric drill and routers
- Kitchen Aid mixers and embroidery machine
