Mr. Ralph Hancock

Position: Counselor for the 6th grade boys and girls and 7th grade boys.

Education: B.A. in Science Education from the University of Northern Colorado; M.A. in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado; M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Bio: I am a native Coloradan and was raised in southwest Denver. While growing up, I played a variety of sports and later coached several sports at the middle school and high school level. My teaching career began in Jefferson County where I taught middle school Science, Math and Physical Education for 15 years. I then moved to Littleton Public Schools to become a counselor and will finish my 20th year in June. My wife and I met while teaching in Jefferson County and we have two sons and a daughter who are all in college this year! I love my job and feel very lucky to be at Powell Middle School.

Position: Counselor for 8^th grade boys and girl’s and 7^th grade girls

Education:Masters of Arts in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix, undergraduate degree in psychology from Metro State. A Certified Addictions Counselor Level II in the State of Colorado.

Bio: I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Colorado in 1991. I did my undergraduate work at Metro State and my graduate work in Reno, Nevada at the University of Phoenix. While in Nevada I was the lead counselor at an inpatient drug and alcohol residential facility. My experience is extensive in addictions as well as residential treatment and school guidance counseling. In 2001 my husband and I moved our 2 daughters back to Colorado. This is my 17 year in counseling and I love to work with our Powell students and their families. Please contact me with any issues you feel I could be of assistance with.

Mrs. Lisa Thursby

Position: Counseling Secretary/Registrar

Bio: Lisa joined our team in October of 2002 and has added an accommodating presence to our staff. Her pleasant voice and warm smile welcomes parents into the counseling office. She is the essential team member. Lisa is known as our resident “coach”, she has a wealth of sports trivia and stat knowledge and is always willing to talk sports with a fellow hockey, football or baseball fan.

Lisa and her husband, Chuck, live in Littleton; they have three children, Vanessa, Michelle & Tim. She spends her free time with family and friends, outdoors, watching or participating in sporting events, and lending a hand to charitable organizations.
